OBS widget is empty
What to check if chat doesn't show in OBS or doesn't show the way it should.
Check these first
- The messages haven't faded out. By default, messages in the widget disappear after 30 seconds. In a quiet chat the widget is empty, and that's normal. You can change the time in Chat Widget → Message animation.
- It's the new link. A http://127.0.0.1:… link from older versions works only while SatomiChat is open. Replace it with the link from the Link for OBS block on the Chat Widget page: that one works even when the app is closed.
- It's the right profile. Each profile has its own link. Make sure OBS has the link of the profile you're setting up.
- The source is visible. The source is enabled in the scene, isn't covered by other sources and isn't too small.
The link won't load
If you see The link didn't load instead of the link, the app isn't connected to the servers or isn't signed in. Click Try again. If that doesn't help, check the connection line above the feed. More in Chat isn't connecting.
Not everything shows
- No bot messages: Hide bot messages is on in the Content filtering block.
- A viewer is missing: they were hidden with Hide in widget. Bring them back through the menu on their message in the feed.
- Links show as “<link removed>”: turn on Show links in the Display block.
- No platform events: check the Platforms block on the Chat Widget page.
Wrong theme
All widget themes except Standard come with Satomi Pro. Without a subscription, OBS shows the Standard theme even if another one is selected in settings.
Single-line profiles, such as Ticker, always use the Standard theme: other themes don't fit on one line.
If nothing helped
In OBS, right-click the source, then Refresh (or open the source properties and click Refresh cache of current page). If that doesn't help, contact support.
