Twitch
What SatomiChat shows from Twitch chat, why you should sign in and which moderation commands work.
Twitch chat is read without signing in. Just add the channel.
What you see without signing in
- messages, including ones with Bits;
- subscriptions, resubscriptions and gift subs;
- raids;
- channel point rewards;
- Bits celebrations, viewing streaks, announcements;
- chat mode changes;
- polls, predictions, Hype Train and the pinned message on the panel above the feed;
- viewer count in stream stats.
What requires signing in
Follows. Twitch no longer provides the follower list without authorization. To have new follows show up in the feed, link the channel owner's or a moderator's account to the channel. More in Signing in to platform accounts.
Chat messages. You can write as any linked account. Messages can be up to 500 characters long. A reply to a message goes to Twitch as a real threaded reply.
Moderation. Requires the channel owner's or a moderator's account:
- delete a message, ban, timeout, unban;
- pin and unpin a message;
- clear chat, chat modes, announcements, shoutout, warning.
Only the channel owner can: add moderators and VIPs, start and cancel a raid, add a stream marker.
Commands
In the message field, press / or start a message with a slash to see the list of Twitch commands, such as /ban, /timeout, /slow, /clear. You can hide the commands you don't need from the list: Appearance → Show chat input → Slash commands → Twitch.
Which events to show
Open Settings → Appearance → Platforms → Twitch and turn off what you don't need: followers, subscriptions, raids, Bits, channel point rewards, announcements, polls, predictions, Hype Train and more. You'll also find Hide bots and Show avatars there.
If you turn off Show Bits, a message with Bits comes in as a regular chat line, without a card.
FAQ
No follows in the feed
Link the channel owner's or a moderator's account to the channel. Without it, Twitch follows don't come through.
“Twitch didn't accept the message”
Usually the chat has a mode on that blocks your message: subscribers-only or followers-only, slow mode, emotes only, unique messages. The reason is shown in the same notice by the message field, right after the words “Twitch didn't accept the message”.
