New message sound
How to turn on a sound alert for new chat messages, use your own sound and set a delay between alerts.
SatomiChat can play a sound for every new chat message. It's handy when the window is minimized or you're not looking at chat.
How to turn it on
- Click the gear and open Sound & notifications.
- Turn on Sound on new message.
- Choose a sound and volume. The ▶ button to the right of the Sound row plays it.
Settings
- Sound: default or your own. For your own, click Choose file: mp3, ogg, wav, m4a, flac and other formats work, up to 2 MB. Reset brings back the default sound.
- Volume from 0 to 100%, 50% by default. When you release the slider, the sound plays at the new volume.
- Delay between sounds: Off by default. If you choose an interval from 0.5 to 10 seconds, the sound won't play more often than that in a busy chat.
The sound plays only for chat messages that are visible in the feed. It stays silent for events, donations and hidden bots. It only plays in the app, not in OBS.
