Game mode
Chat as a transparent overlay on top of a fullscreen game, click-through, and how to exit the mode.
Game mode turns the SatomiChat window into a transparent overlay on top of your game: you read chat without minimizing the game, and clicks pass through the window into the game.
How to turn it on
- Click the gear and open Game Mode.
- Turn on the Game Mode switch. This only allows the mode.
- Go back to the game and press Ctrl+G. The chat becomes transparent and sits on top of the game.
- To exit, press Ctrl+G again.
When the mode turns on, the feed shows a hint with the shortcut to exit. Settings, the title bar, the message field and message menus are hidden in this mode.
Settings
Visible when the Game Mode switch is on.
- Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+G by default, the same as in keyboard shortcuts.
- Click-through: mouse clicks pass through the chat into the game. On by default.
- Background opacity: 0% means a fully transparent background; the higher the value, the more visible the window background.
- Text color and Text shadow (the shadow has its own color): so the text stays readable on any picture.
- Colored events: subscriptions, donations and raids stand out in color. On by default.
- Message background: a bar under each message. It has its own color (black by default), Opacity and Corner radius.
- Hide old messages: messages fade out after a set time, from 1 to 120 seconds. Off by default.
Reset to defaults restores everything except the shortcut and turns the mode off.
Game mode doesn't require a subscription.
